For a long time, I thought self-trust was something I could think my way into.

I’d been told I was too sensitive — that the discomfort I felt was old, or imagined, or not really about what was happening in the moment.

And for a long time, I believed it. But the truth is: my body was speaking clearly. I simply didn’t know how to trust it. I was disconnected from the part of me that knew. 

There were moments when I’d feel a deep unease in my body, and immediately second-guess:

Is this intuition… or anxiety?
Is something wrong now, or am I just being triggered?
Maybe I’m just overreacting. Maybe this isn’t a big deal.
