Afraid of Your Emotions? What If They Were Never the Problem

For so many years, I did 𝘢𝘭𝘭 the things. ⁣

Meditation, therapy, biohacks, wellness protocols—thinking that if I just found the right tool, I’d stop feeling like something was wrong with me.⁣

That maybe one day, I’d stop being so sensitive. ⁣

So easily overwhelmed. ⁣

So challenged by speaking my mind, when others seemed to do so effortlessly. ⁣

What changed everything?⁣

Realising the challenge was that I was trying so hard not to be human.⁣

Why So Many of Us Are Afraid of Our Emotions

In a culture that celebrates positivity, productivity, and independence, it’s easy to internalise the belief that certain feelings mean something’s wrong with us. ⁣

That we should move on, bounce back, or “𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘵 𝘨𝘰” faster than we actually can.⁣

What makes an experience feel harder isn’t the emotion itself, it’s the story we’ve learned to tell ourselves about it.⁣

It’s Not the Feeling — It’s the Story We Tell About It

That story can sound like:⁣
